Hi! My name is Emily Roberts and I have called New Brockton my home all of my life.  I attended New Brockton High School and graduated in 2002 with honors. After high school, I earned an Associate's of Science Degree in Child Development in 2005 from Wallace Community College. I went on to enroll at Troy University-Dothan in 2007 where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2010.

My husband, Zach Roberts, and I were married in June of 2006.   We have two amazing children, Austin (5) and Lily Kate (11 months).  I can honestly say that nothing is more wonderful than being a mother.  Children are truly a blessing from God!  Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, going for walks in the park, and attending church. I very much value my marriage because my childhood taught me the importance of a stable home environment.  Having been raised primarily by my grandparents, I understand the difference that stability can make in the life of a child.  Further, I understand from first-hand experience the difference a dedicated, caring teacher can make.

Being a mother has given me a new perspective of my job as a teacher.  I believe that teachers have a unique opportunity to touch the lives of children in a way that is everlasting.   As an elementary teacher, I believe I have the privilege of helping to lay the foundation in young people's lives that will set the stage for a lifetime of learning and achievement.

As an educator, my definitive goal is to instill in each student a passion for learning and provide them with a stimulating environment that is conducive to building a lifetime of learning and successful decision making.  I will encourage the creativity and curiosity of my students and impress upon them the importance of reaching for their dreams.  I believe it is the role of teachers, administrators, and parents to work together to create the safest and most acceptable learning environment that is most beneficial to every child.
